Sit wherever you like!

Wireless networking replaces network cables with radio links transmitted from a Wireless Router, or from a Wireless Access Point, to wireless network cards installed in your computers. Wireless operates on a dedicated frequency which avoids interference with domestic AM/FM radio signals while providing excellent performance, security and convenience.

The big advantage of wireless is that it requires no cabling, conduits or building alterations, which makes your network connection effortless, invisible and available practically anywhere in or around your building.

Network printers and other network-ready devices may also be connected wirelessly through a Wireless Ethernet Bridge or Print Server, or you can easily add wireless connections to your existing Ethernet network.  The sky really is the limit with wireless.

So what do I need?

All you need is a Network Wireless Adaptor for your computers – PCI cards for your desktops and PC cards for your notebooks. Or you can connect a NetComm Wireless USB adaptor to any PC with a USB port.

And that’s it for a basic setup. You can create a ‘peer-to-peer’ wireless network between any two recent-model computers with NetComm Wireless adaptors installed  -  no strings attached!

For a true Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) solution, you can set up networked broadband internet access with a Wireless Access Point [right], connected to an existing ADSL Modem/Router such as a NetComm NB6, which will provide access for up to 20 users.

Or step up to the NetComm NB5580W Wireless Modem/Router which provides an all-in-one solution to Internet access, file sharing and network management for up to 254 users, with advanced VPN, routing, and security features.

Install the NP5410 Ethernet Wireless Bridge to connect cameras, printers, or game platforms, and the NP5000 Wireless Multi-port Print Server for a wireless link to USB and parallel printers. Once you’ve gone wireless, you’ll never look back.

Operating System Support

Current versions of Windows and Mac OS are both ‘wireless-ready’ with Wizards available to automate the installation process. Apple’s ‘Airport’ solutions are implementations of the 802.11 standard and will work fine with NetComm’s Wireless Access Points and bridge products.

Hot Spots!

Public Hotspot access is really taking off, and NetComm has introduced the innovative Wireless Hotspot HS960 which provides metered access and automatic billing enabling business owners to offer Internet hotspot connectivity on their premises. Get it out, set it up, and start pulling revenue out of thin air. It’s that simple.

And if you want to access wireless hot-spots as an end-user, all you will need to install in your notebook computer is the 54Mbps NP643 Wireless LAN card.
